This past month has been somewhat of a rollercoaster. I can’t say I’m complaining about it though. I’ve changed. I’ve not only changed my career, I’ve changed my mindset so basically I changed my whole life in a matter of 2 maybe 3 weeks!
It feels amazing to actually wake up excited, to open your eyes knowing you actually have a plan. You’re probably asking how… I have one word for you! CHANGE!!! Change is no where near easy, but no one has ever said it would be! It’s difficult for most people to change, because it means getting out of your comfort zone, leaving behind old habits and finding good habits, it simply means finally finding out where you are headed – this can be scary! It was scary for me too. It’s only scary because we spend our entire lives underestimating ourselves! We idolise celebs and rich folk for getting to the top, but do we ever try to get there ourselves. (I’m not only taking about riches, I’m talking about knowledge and growth!) Why do we do this?? Why do we make it ok to put ourselves on levels lower than others. What makes the next person better than myself!!?? — The answer to that : ‘NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING makes the next person better!‘
“Love yourself FIRST, so you know what you deserve!”
It’s starts with you as an individual! Maybe theres someone reading this who needs some guidance so I wanted to share with you all how I plan on overcoming these major changes in my life:
Firstly – Make a plan! Set up Goals (Short and long term goals) – If I understand where it is I want to be 3 Months from now or 2 years down the line, I can actually plan what it is I will be doing to achieve those goals!
Secondly – If I am not happy with my current situation , I will do whatever it takes to change this. Put in the time and effort to get to your end goal!
Thirdly! – I’m going to have the time of my life doing all of the above. Have fun doing whatever you planned to do – theres no point in doing something you’re not happy about doing.
Finally – BELIEVE IN YOURSELF! (most important!)
Make sure your goals are big enough to motivate you! Put in the work, get shit done and do whatever you have to! Remember to just be yourself whilst doing all of this!
If you’re like me and you’re wearing lipstick all week. You’re lips tend to get dry and chapped. No one likes chapped lips! I’ve created a scrub of my own to prevent this. Lip scrubs are great to remove the dead skin from your lips. Also keeps it soft and smooth!
Rose water Lippie scrub Recipe:
1 teaspoon of Rose Water
1 tablespoon of Cane Sugar
1 and a half tablespoons of Coconut Oil
All you have to do is mix together until combined. After mixing store in a cool dry place.
On application, use a pea sized amount. Rub in circular motion. Wipe off with a cotton ball and warm water. This scrub can be used daily before applying lipstick. I do this scrub daily, but depending on skin type – use when suitable for you!
Today marks one year since I have started my blog, I was able to explore many new avenues and I was able to express my self through this very blog ! Thank you all! I appreciate all the feedback and love I’ve received ! God bless you all! Stay tuned, I’ve got a whole lot more in store! 😘😘😘
We’re nearing the end of my 4 Part Summer Essentials Series.
My hair is bleached and sometimes taking care of it becomes unbearable , it’s imperative that you find hair care products that work for you. And that are actually good for your hair. Healthy hair is good looking hair.
So I use Davines, there’s 3 products I currently have, 2 of which are shampoo’s and the other a conditioner.
The MINU Shampoo, is an illuminating protective shampoo for colored hair. It smells lovely and leaves your hair feeling soft unlike other ordinary shampoo’s.
And then I have the NATURAL TECH NOURISHING SHAMPOO, this one is for dehydrated scalp and dry and brittle hair. I love this one because my hair tends to feel brittle now and then. I alternate between the 2 different shampoo’s.
Then this fab conditioner , it’s an ALCHEMIC CONDITIONER, for natural and colored hair. It’s purple in color, smells great, leaves your hair shining. I’d say this is more like a hair mask. But either way it’s works wonders.
All the products mentioned above have been bought at a hair salon, (Carlton Hair). It’s possible that other salons stock Davines products as well.
Part 2 of my Summer Essentials is made up of some of my basic essentials.
We all want to have great skin, and of course it doesn’t always have to come at a cost. I wouldn’t say I’ve had bad skin, but Ive had mild acne before, it was treated with roacutane, It’s also very important to Find yourself a skincare regime that works well for you. My dermatologist recommended Eucerin’s DermoPURIFYER Range. This particular range is for oily and blemish-prone skin. I’ve been using it for a few months now and I’ve got absolutely no complaints. Eucerin have other ranges as well, they don’t cost an arm and a leg. The products below are all from the DermoPURIFYER Range, I have a cleanser, Toner and an Active Night Care Moisturiser and for the day I have the Hydrating Care Moisturiser.
Next I have the handbag essential’s (not the nail polish of course). 🙂 I must have mentioned that I always get my nails done. But that doesn’t mean I can’t buy nail polish. Theres always the emergency. I discovered these pretty summer colours – they’re a gel nail polish from Essence (Not pricey at all – Got mine at Clicks). And the Sorbet Nail Polish – In a pink nude.
Also Keep your hands moist and soft, with Woolworths (Honey Vanilla Hand Cream) – My favourite hand cream so far, Smells lovely. Then we have the Lips, no body ever wants dry lips. I use Zam-Buk – Cherry Lip Balm. Great for a base on your lips, especially if you use matt Lip colours. Also smells good.
I got this 3 piece pocket dividers from Cotton On. They can be used for practically anything, when you travel, make up bags. I plan on using mine as a Lipstick bag. And for some other lose things in my handbag as well.
Hope You like this one. Remember to follow me on the Gram, and on Twiiter. Links are in my menu under Contact Details. Also please feel free to leave any feedback behind in my comments.
I’ve decided to do a 4 Part Series of all my Summer Essentials. These are mainly things I Cannot live without during the summer. Also mostly things I’ve recently discovered. Some are great buys and great for you.
This very 1st part is about ‘STAYING HYDRATED‘.
I know from experience that during the summer , all I ever want is something cold and sweet, from Soda’s and Cider’s , to Ice cream and everything except something healthy.
But , I found these tasty cold pressed Juices from Woolworths. They are also a 100% Fruit & Vegetable juice Blend. They come in the cutest 250 ml bottles. And they don’t taste all that bad.
I’ve tried two great flavours!
The Apple, Beetroot, orange and cucumber. – Apple adds sweetness and cucumber makes it a very cooling juice. Loved it!
The Carrot, Apple & Orange, With a shot of Ginger. The shot of Ginger wasn’t too strong. Orange enhances the freshness of this juice.
Both of these great flavors are best served chilled. (The Beetroot one is my fave though.)
I know Sir Juice makes great Fresh Juices, They’re 100% fruit Juice and Fruit Pulp! The Pineapple was definitely my favorite. Who said healthy didn’t taste good.
My next one is WATER! Drink lots of it. It’s recommended that you drink 8 Glasses each day. Also a good way to stay away from fizzy drinks. What I’d recommend is buying a pretty bottle which you could carry with you to work each day, and just fill up every time. Also mix it up alil, try some fruit infused water’s , Use strawberries and watermelon if you want something alil sweet. Or Cucumber, Mint and Lemon for a refreshing taste.
This water carafe and glass set is from @Home – It was a low R149.00 – And I absolutely love mine! I use Still mineral water, and some fresh lemon slices. Works wonders. Especially if you’re trying to detox.
Hope you all liked the post. Have a safe weekend, hope to post quite soon. Please don’t forget to give me any feedback you have.
