Sometimes in the winds of change, we find our true direction…

This past month has been somewhat of a rollercoaster. I can’t say I’m complaining about it though. I’ve changed. I’ve not only changed my career, I’ve changed my mindset so basically I changed my whole life in a matter of 2 maybe 3 weeks!

It feels amazing to actually wake up excited, to open your eyes knowing you actually have a plan. You’re probably asking how… I have one word for you! CHANGE!!! Change is no where near easy, but no one has ever said it would be! It’s difficult for most people to change, because it means getting out of your comfort zone, leaving behind old habits and finding good habits, it simply means finally finding out where you are headed – this can be scary! It was scary for me too. It’s only scary because we spend our entire lives underestimating ourselves! We idolise celebs and rich folk for getting to the top, but do we ever try to get there ourselves. (I’m not only taking about riches, I’m talking about knowledge and growth!) Why do we do this?? Why do we make it ok to put ourselves on levels lower than others. What makes the next person better than myself!!?? — The answer to that : ‘NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING makes the next person better!

“Love yourself FIRST, so you know what you deserve!”

It’s starts with you as an individual! Maybe theres someone reading this who needs some guidance so I wanted to share with you all how I plan on overcoming these major changes in my life:

  • Firstly – Make a plan! Set up Goals (Short and long term goals) – If I understand where it is I want to be 3 Months from now or 2 years down the line, I can actually plan what it is I will be doing to achieve those goals!
  • Secondly – If I am not happy with my current situation , I will do whatever it takes to change this. Put in the time and effort to get to your end goal!
  • Thirdly! – I’m going to have the time of my life doing all of the above. Have fun doing whatever you planned to do – theres no point in doing something you’re not happy about doing.
  • Finally – BELIEVE IN YOURSELF! (most important!)

Make sure your goals are big enough to motivate you! Put in the work, get shit done and do whatever you have to! Remember to just be yourself whilst doing all of this!

Good Luck and God Bless! ***

Lippie Scrub!

If you’re like me and you’re wearing lipstick all week. You’re lips tend to get dry and chapped. No one likes chapped lips! I’ve created a scrub of my own to prevent this. Lip scrubs are great to remove the dead skin from your lips. Also keeps it soft and smooth!

Rose water Lippie scrub Recipe:

  • 1 teaspoon of Rose Water
  • 1 tablespoon of Cane Sugar
  • 1 and a half tablespoons of Coconut Oil

All you have to do is mix together until combined. After mixing store in a cool dry place.

On application, use a pea sized amount. Rub in circular motion. Wipe off with a cotton ball and warm water. This scrub can be used daily before applying lipstick. I do this scrub daily, but depending on skin type – use when suitable for you!

Hope you guys love it! Let me know what you think

OOTD : Slashed Denim + Adidas Superstar Slip Ons.

This past Friday, we had a little bit of Sun in South Africa. So I had to sort of embrace the weather. I recently made a new shoe purchase from my all time favorite online Sneaker Store – SHELFLIFE. You should most definitely check them out.

I paired my newly purchased All white Adidas Superstar Slip On’s from SHELFLIFE with a slashed blue washed out denim jeans from REFINERY South Africa, which by the way is one of my top stores at the moment. The navy and burgundy check shirt is from Refinery as well.

I absolutely adore Friday’s especially after a week full of formal or semi formal work outfits. Hope you like this one, don’t forget to drop me some feedback!

Also have a blessed week ahead. Push through and keep that crown straight! πŸ’‹πŸ’‹πŸ’‹

OOTD : Black&Yellow.

Guess who’s back, back again?! Bini’s back! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ I hope everyone is fab. I hope it hasn’t been as rocky for you as it has been for me. It’s July. A new month, this means new attitude and new outlook.
I loved my outfit today, thought I would share. Although I adore an all black outfit. You can always add a pop of color to your outfits. I went with something very simple but cute.

This yellow knit is from H&M South Africa , the suede black flat pumps as well. I paired it with a brushed black jegging, it’s got a little zip detail on the bottoms – this one is from Woolworths SA. I was super comfy in this outfit, who doesn’t want to be comfy on a cold day.

Let me know what you think. Love always. Xx

She’s twenty-one!

What it means to turn 21?

It means you’re an adult now, it’s no longer time to sit around and just wait for things to happen, it’s time to get out there and get those things done. It means you can now get out into the world , make your own memories, travel the world, meet new people, try new food and just do you the way only you know best.

My wishes weren’t extravagant, I found myself wanting happiness more than anything, wanting memories with people I loved, wanting the great moments to last forever. I found myself wishing to be successful in whatever I put my mind to.

I want to be great, not for anybody else, but for myself, for my sister and for my parents. I want them to be proud. I want to be able to sit back and be proud of myself too.

So if you’re turning 21 this year as well. I wish you all the best. May it be great and everything you’re expecting, no matter what your wishes are, may they be fulfilled.

It hasn’t been an easy ride, the future doesn’t look easy either, but Here’s to turning 21.. 🍾🍾🍾image

My birthday outfit was from River Island, it’s a two piece crocheted set, in Black. The crocheted detail was my favorite part of the outfit. I paired it with a frill suede tan peep toe heel. Those have to be my fave shoe right now. I through on some gold accessories and was ready to go! Hope you like. 😘

What to eat!

So, I think it’s safe to say I have officially become a binge blogger. In the next couple of days you all would understand why.

  1. About 2 weeks ago , I visited Krispy Kreme , they’re based at the The Zone, in Rosebank. P.S – at 20 something it’s okay to want to eat doughnuts. I got to see the famous Krispy Kreme glaze Curtain and of course The doughnuts were yummy. Definitely makes you feel like a kid again! I will see you soon Krispy Kreme SA (on my cheat days of course!😏). My fav was the Oreo Cookies and Kreme. 🍩Check out their Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/krispykremesouthafrica/
  2. If you’re trying to be healthy and you’re looking for something on the lighter side! Try Kauai’s Mexi Bowl. It’s got free range chicken, jalapeΓ±os, raw corn, sriracha, quinoa, tortilla chips, tomato salsa and avo. It’s yum and very filling. You could get the same thing in a wrap. Get the coco Mango to go with it and you’re sorted.
  3. And then, in Northmead – Benoni. On Sixth is the name of the restaurant. The food is quite good. They have light and heavy meals to choose from. So this would be a good place to eat at during the day and in the evenings.  And they also have a cute setup.

That’s all for now. Remember I am human so feel free to follow me Twitter and Instagram. Also check out my Facebook Page. You can find all the links in my contact page. Blessed weekend to all. I’ll be back soon. πŸ€—

    Hello 2016!

Yes, I know I am about 17 days late, but what can you do – a girl gets busy you know.

Anyway Happy New Year to all of you. 2015 was really a sh*tty year – (excuse the language). I am so excited about 2016 – I have an incredible amount of things I’d like to achieve this year. But my main goal – Is my HAPPINESS. I don’t think anything else really matters if I’m happy right. So I hope you all have a great year, I’m excited to have this blog as a way to to reach out to people, not only in South Africa – all over the world. I promise to make it as amazing as I can.

See you all really soon! xxx – Binita

    My December Wishlist???

I planned to make this post a post about all the things I wanted this December. Then I sat back and thought, is that not a selfish thing to do ? Is it not selfish for me for want things that would only benefit me. Is it not selfish to think about only myself and nothing else. Yes you work all year long, yes it’s okay to want that new pair of sneakers, maybe a bottle of champagne here and there, that 18 year old whiskey your dad wants, but maybe just once lets think about others for a change. Just one year.

It’s always sad this time of the year, most of us are enjoying a warm Christmas meal and family time
and the rest live out on the street, all alone and with an empty stomach.
I am probably not in a financial position to put those less fortunate into a home or anything but I could probably buy a few people a warm meal and some thing to drink. I urge you to lend a hand to some one in need this festive season, And no you won’t get anything in return besides a very grateful ‘thank you’. And that’s OK. The little we do, could mean a lot to some one else.

You might not even need to do much, donate some old clothes or toys, volunteer in a soup kitchen for a couple of hours, Bake some cupcakes – hand them out at street corners, take part in Santa’s shoebox initiative or just spend some time with some one who needs it.

I hope this won’t be my last post for 2015, but if it is, Merry Christmas to all those who celebrate
and a happy new year to everybody, may your new years resolutions be realistic and champagne be bubbly.

    Love and Light – Bini.
